Nurse tired from night duty, waited ages to see paediatrician who didnt start till abt 10am. Saw Dr Jonathan Leong again, but he did not attend to us, we had sleepy early morning start Dr instead, she seemed less switched on, then later the paediatrician saw us - precription of disprol. We were half expecting to catch something else from there again!
Anyway, they poked and prodded poor baby trying to find cause... only conc was viral inf - which I'm sure they were not certain of - how can you be sure when baby's throat is so hard to see (5 months wriggly and cries when tongue stick stuck in). They also tried looking in his ears - caked w wax... so how can they conclude viral inf?
When finally he presented bloody diarrhoea, we knew it was gasatroenteritus of sorts and presumed oral route via dicey changing table -AT the hospital.
The poo really was distressing - worse than usualy blood from allergy.... but great relief when it finally passed.
